My first interview in english

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I did my first interview in English. It was for working in Paris in a young social network about cinema which is setting in an internship. I was very nervous because I've never did an interview for a job in a different language than my mother tongue. The day before, I wanted to prepare properly a list of feasible questions, but I'm Spanish and I said to myself that the best way to relax myself it's go away and take some beers. So I called a friend of mine, and we stayed in the pub until 3 a.m. Obviously, I didn't do my bets and the morning after i had an enormous hangover!!

By the way, I agreed on do the interview with the company at 12 pm by Skype, but in truth they didn't send me the video call until 12.15 pm. You could imagine my preoccupation, because they have a strong culture to be punctual. But finally, i received the invitation. At the other side, there was a young Ukrainian girl called María (that’s not her real name, because i want to reserve her intimacy).

Maria was very friendly with me and we had a little chat in an informal way. She wanted to know my experience in the field of communication and what i used to do in the other internships where I worked.

I felt a mix between to be raving about to have the chance of working in this company and the nervousness about my first experience in English. However, my English was good. Probably i made some mistakes in my speech. Fortunately, Maria didn't care about it. She paid attention about my working in the field of layout's magazines, SEO, and my HTML language.

At the end of the interview she told me that she liked my profile because i had some interesting stuffs in my CV. She told me that she had to talk with her partners and maybe in three days she will be able to give me a reply.

This post has the objective of express myself in English. On the other hand i think it's a good information for people who are going to pass an interview en English as I did. I want to send them an advice: don't worry and be serene. If you have the English level for the post you sure can get it, and if you can't get the job because of your languages skills, think that it's better because you won't be suitable for the work.

Thanks everyone for you time and don't forget: I'm only a student. The most probably is that I've written something wrong, but don't stress you about that. I apologize with Shakespeare if I made mistakes.

See you online!
